Data Viz best practices As our understanding and access to data grow, so too does the need for great Data Visualization. Data Visualization is the process of taking data and information and presenting it in a graphical format. By using items like line and bar graphs, scatterplots, tables, and other charts, we aid our audience in quickly identifying trends and patterns, outliers, or leading indicators. The ability to tell a story using data is becoming an increasingly in-demand skill, with some roles being created and dedicated to it. In today’s session, we will review those skills and how you can effectively format data to present to any audience and leave behind the message you intend to. The practices covered during this session apply to some of the most common tools used today: Tableau, Excel, Power Bi, and more. This session is great for anyone who builds presentations or dashboards regularly and is looking to improve their skills or see how others in the field are doing it.
